LandVenture Travel wins at Antójate de Antioquia
And here's our first award during our first year of operation. This is a public recognition made by the Government of Antioquia for those who strive to innovate in the design and execution of their tourism packages and promote Antioquia as a tourist destination. We participated with our tour to Jardín and we made it! Thanks to all the tourists that have traveled with us to this amazing destination. Your cheering and positive feedback has encouraged us to continue to improve this tour package to contest winning standards. Oh, and very special thanks to Don Jaime who is the most important team player in the success of this tour.

Antioquia's Southwest with the Baker family
On the 30th and 31st of May, I had the pleasure of being the Baker's family tour guide. They were interested in visiting Jardín, the best preserved republican architecture town along with Jerico, also in the Southwest of Antioquia. By the way, Colombia's political divisions are called departments and Antioquia is the department where Medellín is located.
We left Medellín quite early on Monday (the 31st) and made a couple stops along the way. The first one was to capture the magnificence of Cerro Tusa (Bald Peak Pyramid Hill) and the second one, a restroom and coffee stop at La Mayoría, a very pleasant road diner about one hour away from Medellin.
Then we went straight to Alto de las Flores in Jardín's outskirts to start our horse-back ride to the Splendor Cave. Both the horse ride and the hike to the waterfall were quite accomplishments and I'd rather let you read it directly from the Baker's family South America Travel blog.
So here's the link to their blog: http://nickbakerfamily.wordpress.com/category/jardin/ Please note that after mentioning so many directions, what I really meant was Colombia's Northwest and Antioquia's Southwest. So if you read "Colombia's Southeast" on their blog, they really mean Antioquia's Southwest! ; )
The following day we left early again but this time to Támesis, also in the Southwest and overcame our fears through a very interesting adventure or therapeutical adventure, known as canyoning or waterfall rappelling. Here's the link to that wonderful day: http://nickbakerfamily.wordpress.com/category/tamesis/
